EXPLORE EAST AFRICA

Tanzania at the heart.
East Africa beyond.

Private journeys across East Africa, designed from our home in Tanzania. Stay in one country, or go further when the route calls for it.

follow your curiosity.

NDUTU / NORTHERN TANZANIA

TANZANIA / OUR HOME GROUND

One country. Many journeys.

Our home is Tanzania. The country changes dramatically as you travel, from northern plains and highlands to southern rivers and the quieter west. Start with the kind of safari that appeals to you.

BUFFALO & OXPECKERS

The north

Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and the Rift Valley bring together open plains, highlands and elephant country. A rewarding first safari, with time to stay longer in fewer places. The season helps decide which part of the Serengeti makes sense.

The south

Nyerere and Ruaha bring rivers, baobabs and broad wilderness into the journey. In Nyerere, boat safaris can add a different perspective where conditions and your chosen camp allow. Access, camp location and time between places matter here.

The west

Katavi and Mahale suit travellers willing to give the journey more time. Flights and access are a larger part of the plan. Consider the west for a return to Tanzania or a trip built around remote places.

BEYOND TANZANIA

One region. Without forcing the borders.

Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda each bring a different possibility to the journey. They can stand alone or combine with Tanzania when the connections, time and interests make sense.

Use the Atlas to orient yourself, then begin with the places that draw you in.

KENYA

Another view of safari.

The Maasai Mara offers another chapter of open-country wildlife watching. Laikipia can bring a different setting and, at selected camps, guided walking into the journey.

Kenya may be the whole safari or a considered addition to northern Tanzania. Choose the area and camp for what they add, with time to experience each place.

MAASAI MARA / KENYA
UGANDA / FOREST & PRIMATE COUNTRY

Forests change the encounter.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and chimpanzee tracking in Kibale bring the forest into focus. The experience is on foot, with terrain and time that deserve consideration in the plan.

Uganda can become a journey of its own, or a distinct forest chapter alongside a plains safari. Begin with what you want to experience, then give the route enough time.

BLACK-AND-WHITE COLOBUS / LAKE NKURUBA, UGANDA
RWANDA

A chapter with its own character.

Volcanic slopes, rainforest and savannah offer different ways to spend time here. A gorilla experience may be the starting point, with room to explore further within Rwanda.

Volcanoes

Mountain gorillas and forested slopes in the Virunga mountains. Shape this part of the journey around the trek and the time it needs.

Nyungwe

An ancient rainforest, with chimpanzees, other primates and birdlife. A different forest experience within the same country.

Akagera

Savannah, woodland, wetlands and lakes bring a plains safari into a Rwanda journey.

MOUNT KILIMANJARO / TANZANIA

Let the horizon
lead you higher.

there is another way to feel the wild.

KILIMANJARO / SEEN FROM MOUNT MERU

East Africa is also mountain country. In Tanzania, Kilimanjaro can be a guided day on the lower slopes or a dedicated multi-day climb, planned around your experience and ambitions.

Give the mountain its own time, then let the safari or coast carry the journey onwards.

ZANZIBAR & THE COAST

From dust to salt water.

A quiet beach, Stone Town, food and spice experiences, sailing or simply doing very little. The coast can change the pace completely.

We build it into the journey from the start, so the safari and the final days work together.

BUILDING THE ROUTE

Every stop should earn its place.

Combining countries works best when the next place changes the experience. Here are three useful starting points, each to be shaped around your dates, available connections and preferred pace.

Plains & forest

A Tanzania or Kenya safari with Uganda or Rwanda for a primate experience. Allow for trekking, transfers and time to settle between chapters.

Two safari perspectives

Northern Tanzania and Kenya can share a journey. Choose camps and landscapes that bring variety, with enough time in each to avoid a succession of travel days.

Safari & sea

Tanzania and Zanzibar offer a change of pace within one country. Decide how much time you want in the bush and how you want the coast to feel.

We check flight connections, camp availability and any permits needed for the experiences you choose before settling the route. Sometimes a deeper journey within one country is the better fit.

THE ROUTE COMES NEXT

You don’t need all the answers.

Tell us when you would like to travel, who is coming and what matters most to you. We will help connect the places, the season and the pace.

Elegance. Untamed.
