Remote Tanzania. For the traveller drawn to wide spaces, quieter routes and the feeling of getting properly away.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF SAFARI

Let the distance
mean something.

fewer stops. a deeper sense of place.

Perhaps you have already seen the Serengeti. Perhaps your first safari simply belongs somewhere less familiar. We start with what draws you further.

Ruaha, Katavi and Mahale offer very different versions of Tanzania. They are possibilities to shape around your interests, rather than three places that every remote journey needs to include.

THREE DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS

Riverbeds.
Wild plains.
Forest shores.

Ruaha

Baobabs, broad landscapes and a wildlife rhythm of its own. A place to settle into camp and give the surrounding country time.

Katavi

A western wilderness for travellers who value space and the journey involved in reaching it. Season, camp operations and the practical route need careful checking.

Mahale

Mountains and forest meet Lake Tanganyika. Chimpanzee trekking brings a different kind of encounter, with ranger guidance and time on foot.

sometimes the path is part of the story.

Mahale’s chimpanzees belong to the forest. Guided trekking means following the rangers’ lead, with encounters shaped by the animals and conditions on the day.

Walking can be demanding and sightings are never guaranteed. We discuss fitness, current health and age requirements, permits and the time needed before suggesting a forest chapter.

Want gorillas as well? Uganda or Rwanda needs its own chapter in a wider East Africa journey, with the connections and permits planned carefully.

you do not have to fill every hour.

THE PRACTICAL PART

Remote deserves
careful planning.

the right route gives you room to stay.

Flights, airstrip transfers, boats and camp operating dates can shape the route as much as the wildlife. We check how the pieces connect before confirming your journey.

Allow time for getting there and for staying once you arrive. Tell us your comfort preferences and how you feel about longer transfers or a more adventurous rhythm.
